I bed to differ.
The best gaming console out there is bar none the PC. I've said it before and i'll say it again. The PC offers great customization and the graphics cards have so much horse power behind them such as the GTX Series, which leaves all consoles in the dust.
However that's not to say console gaming sucks. In fact for being almost 5+ years old they're doing great. The PS3 still has so much power left to be untapped that it's not even funny. Just look at Uncharted 2 and 3. The Xbox 360, not so much but they still look great.
However MW3 co-founder of sledgehammer Michael Condrey has stated that it's becoming harder and harder to push the limits for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
"We are definitely in the later phases of the development cycle now," studio co-founder Michael Condrey told IndustryGamers. "Teams have had a lot of time on this generation to capitalise on the hardware strengths. For good teams, the raw horsepower has been pushed towards its peak performance, and great teams are looking for hundredths, and more often thousandths of a second of CPU and GPU optimisations to push the consoles harder."
"Graphic improvements continue to push the visuals to new bars every year and next year should be no different," he went on to say. "I don't expect the leap forward to be as large as the early console years, but the cycle isn't over yet either."
I'm 100% other devs will disagree. The weakest console to develop for is the Xbox 360 and many devs have stated this. But because companies don't want to pony up extra cash specially Activision to push the limits of the PS3, they just settle for a port of the 360. If what Michael said is true I would really love to see if his company has a PS3 exclusive that we all don't know about that really pushes the PS3 to it's limits.
But because he probably doesn't he's just talking out of his ass
