Kaz Harai wants PS3 sales to surpass PS2

There has never been a popular home console since the PS2 which has sold 140+ million units since 2009. The Wii is getting there with 70+ million copies but only time will tell if they will manage to take the crown away from the PS2. Kaz Harai wants the crown to go to the PS3 as he wants it to reach and surpass the PS2 in every way.

“The high point, looking back at our console business, has been PS2…For PS3, that is one level of success we’d like to emulate and hopefully surpass at the end of the ten-year lifecycle.”

Since day one people have criticize the PS3 for it's high price tag but have not really looked at what they were getting. Even with the Slim at $300 people are still getting more for their money. The PS3 has been doing better each year with sales rising but I don't think it will surpass or even come close to the PS2 unless they expand their business to more than 10 years and hope Microsoft and Nintendo don't release their successors soon.
