WHY? Because Microsofts own Phil H. says so.
A few days ago the Dev for Sniper Elite 3 came out and said that the XBox one ESRAM is causing issues with 1080p performance. He later went on to say that new Dev Kits were being shipped by Microsoft to fix the issue. Of course Microsoft's own Phil Harrison has come out to defend the console by saying that ESRAM is more than enough for 1080p gaming on Xbox One.
Phil H. used several games as an example of 1080p goodness which include Forza and Kinect Sports Rivals.
For those of you that aren't familiar with the hardware, The Xbox one has 8GB of DDR3 ram with 32MB of ESRAM. The PS4 on the other hand uses the much faster GDDR5 Ram which has no problems playing games in full 1080p.
By comparison the games look a lot better with more detail on the PS4. However this issue will soon go away as developers get comfortable with the hardware and new more efficient Dev Kits are released.
