Lucky Gamer Gets PS Plus for free for 21 years

Why can't things like that ever happen to me?

You read it all over the news. Some guy finds 5 million in cash, then returns it to the owner. While that is the most ethical thing to do even if you don't get a reward I wonder what it would be like if it was some mischievous person who got a hold of that cash. While an unnamed lucky gamer didn't find cash he did find a glitch in the PS Store which allowed him to add 21 years of free PS Plus.

A VG24/7 reader found a glitch within the 14 day free trial of PS Plus. When he signed up for the first time, he noticed that he could keep adding the 14 day trial for as long as he wants until the timer reached 2035.

“Once you accept the deal, you are allowed to keep extending the 14 free days for free once prompted after confirmation of the free purchase. All you have to do is keep pressing X and you keep getting 14 free days added to your free subscription. The hundreds of email confirmations from Sony all say $0.00,″ he explained.

Of course every time these kind of news always go live, The gap, if it hasn't already, keeps closing as Sony tries to patch up the bug. This bug is also only available for first time buyers of the Plus Service which means current subscribers cannot try it out unless they create a brand new account with Sony on a PS3 that is not linked to a PS Plus account.

It may be tempting to try but also remember that Sony can at any time reverse your account back to regular status via a simple fix. You are connected to their servers after all. Even without the glitch in place PS Plus is still a great deal with games like Bioshock Infinite, Payday 2, Outlast, Metro Last Light and other currently up for grabs for PS Plus users and as long as Sony keeps the price to $50 annually, I'm a happy customer.
