Wii Gets Price Cut.

More wood to fuel the fire that a new Nintendo console is around the corner.

Nintendo today dropped the price of the Nintendo Wii from $199.99 to $169.99. It's still a bit expensive for old technology from the year 2000 but what are you gonna do. Of course you still get 2 games and a Wii Motion plus controller.

BestBuy was the first retailer to have the price cut into effect and Target is soon to follow with all other retailers coming within the following week as well. With the price cut this is giving more fuel to the new Nintendo console that might be announced at E3 this year but if a new console was going to be announced I would say it would probably take place at the Tokyo Game Show with the Nintendo console launching probably by early 2012 or possibly even Christmas 2011.

The new console is said to be more powerful than the Xbox 360 and will have a bluray player but chances are Nintendo will stick to the regular DVD based media as adding a BluRay Player will mean sleeping with the enemy that is Sony. Of course there are other companies that will work with Nintendo to provide the BluRay Drive if they ever decide to do it.
