Nintendo of America President complains about mobile games.
For those of you that do not get it NoA President is complaining about mobile games on smart phone or even basic phones and not handhelds which is a different catergory. Nintendo of America President has said that mobile games give consumers a different idea of how much a piece of software should cost.
In an interview with GameTrailers' Geoff Keighley, Fils-Aime complained that cheaper titles create a "mentality for the consumer that a piece of gaming content should only be $2."
Of course Fils-Aime is against such practices as it drives business away from them but the reality is it's better to have a game that you paid $6 to download that you don't like than to pay $40 for a game you purchased that you don't like. On top of that you have small developers and creating better games rather than big companies sticking to an agenda. This opens the door to all sorts of developers while Nintendo closes that door unless you have the cash to start your own development company. Not to mention that there are some complete titles on Mobile devices which says a lot compared to some games on handheld devices.
The downside to OTA download is that you do not have a physical copy in your hands which is something that I personally prefer to have. Nintendo and company must either lower the price of games or risk alienating the mobile market.
