Activision has lowered it's expectations on future CoD Titles.

Activision doesn't believe future CoD Titles will top Black Ops.

With the cancellation of the Guitar Hero Franchise and True Crime Hong Kong, Activision may have underestimated the market and therefore are lowering expectations on any Future Call of Duty titles with the next one being Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

"In order to be prudent and given the enormous success of Black Ops, at this point, we have still planned a retail release in the fall below the levels of success that we have seen with Black Ops. So that's very consistent with how we treated that last year."

"Now having said all of that, I think we have a blockbuster retail release lined up for the fall that we are extremely excited about, which will be hopefully again the biggest game of the year."

With all the Black Ops issues I do hope Activision learns from their mistake and start taking the market and the consumer seriously but who knows. They have 2 different studios working on the CoD franchise so it wouldn't be a surprise if the next game is a buggy as Black Ops.
