Let me say to whoever says everyone will own iPads that I completely disagree.
Microsoft is hard at work with their own version of the Tablet PC but Keith Goddard says by the time Microsoft releases the product, everyone will have an iPad. Let me tell you why I disagree with this. First of all Keith Goddard is the CEO of Capital Advisors an investment firm which holds Apple stock. Saying anything else other than praising would be sudden death for their firm.
“By the time Microsoft gets it figured out everybody will already own an iPad, That train has left the station.”
Second, think about it. How many people do you see out in the street using an iPad? It's true it's more of a home use device but from what I've seen the iPad is the Wii of the tablet world. Everyone has one but no one uses it and eventually it will lose it's appeal even with all the upgrades being offered.
The next version of the iPad is expected to have a camera. Seriously when you go on vacation how are you going to take out that brick just to take a picture. You're not.
I don't expect Microsoft to do any better with their tablet. It's true it's selling right now but eventually it will all lose it's appeal. You can only do so much with a tablet compared to a laptop or desktop and for those people they will probably stick with their laptops. All the tablet will be used for is some gaming and maybe movie watching but a Wi-Fi connection is required which if you're on the move you can't get a hold off.
If anything the tablet is probably something I will be skipping. I could use that extra money to buy a Nintendo 3DS or PSP2.
