It's the equivalent of falling on your nuts while trying to land a trick.
Tony Hawk's pro skater created a revolution back when it launched on the PlayStation. It was followed by sequels which were great and entertaining. Other games tried to copy it's winning formula but failed flat on the pavement.
Now the Tony Hawk series maybe ready for retirement as it fails to meet expectations. On it's first week of being released Tony Hawk Shred only sold 3000 units.
Tony Hawk's Ride wasn't a big hit but it seemed to have made enough money to green lit a sequel. Maybe Activision should of retired the old dog while it was on it's last leg. There are a lot of reviews out there that gave both Ride and Shred low score's because it missed it's core demographic. You can't pick up a regular controller and play and forces you to use the motion sensing skateboarding controller.
Seeing a sequel or another installment would really put Activision's judgment into question.
