Harmonix up for sale.

It seems music games are falling faster than Robert Koticks Soul into the Abyss.

Harmonix the studio behind the RockBand titles is up for sale after falling short on the stock market with a 59% drop. Viacom the owner of MTV which owns Harmonix put the studio up for sale and some people believe Activision will earn the most from purchasing the studio but EA can also snatch up the studio since they have published their previous games.

"It would most likely be between EA and Activision, and the latter has more money and has more to gain by eliminating the competition,"said Patcher in an interview.

The Developer also said that "This morning's announcement does not affect the ongoing work at the studio as we continue to support our existing franchises, Rock Band and Dance Central,"

Activision purchasing Harmonix could mean more job losses as the company will benefit by eliminating the competition. The only other competition isn't really doing very well with Power Gig: Rise of the Six String  Guitar.

EA purchasing the company could mean that they get a bigger share but if Music games keep falling then the studio could be worthless unless they have a new IP to work with.
